MUSICAL VIENNA BY CANDLELIGHT



Vienna has always been the city of music. For centuries, the Imperial Court created a stimulating environment for musicians and artists alike. No other city has had as many famous composers residing in it. Whether street bands or balls, concerts or the opera, chamber music or Gypsy Carnivals - this city never sleeps. The Locrian Ensemble, attired in sumptuous period costume and in stunning candlelit setting, perform music by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Lehar and (of course) Johann Strauss. Britain’s favourite touring ensemble are joined in this celebration of Viennese music by the brilliant Scottish soprano, Catriona Clark, and two wonderful dancers.

MOZART BY CANDLELIGHT

Great Music, Great Humour, Great Atmosphere.

The Locrians pay musical tribute to greatest of all composers, in lavishperiod costume and in an stunning and evocative candlelit setting. This isthe perfect ambience in which to enjoy musical gems including : Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, the sublime Clarinet Quintet, Salzburg Symphony,

Ave Verum Corpus, The Musical Joke, and Pachelbel's Kanon.





VIVALDI'S 4 SEASONS BY CANDLELIGHT

Britain's best-loved classical touring ensemble, the Locrian, present amusical tribute to the great Venetian composer, Antonio Vivaldi.Attired in lavish period costume, performing in front of a stunningclassical set, these charismatic musicians perform Vivaldi's Four Seasons, acomposition which depicts 17th century Italian rural life in a wonderfullyinventive manner . Other works include the virtuoso Concerto for TwoViolins, the Rustic Symphony, and classics such as Pachelbel's Canon, andHandel's Arrival of the Queen of Sheba. Step back for a while from the hectic pace of our anxious times, into theelegance and grace of the Baroque, whilst listening to harmonies of thisgreat melodic genius weaving his magical spell.





“THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS BY CANDLELIGHT”

This annual concert by the Locrian is the hottest tickets in our calendar. The Locrians are joined by West End “Phantom of the Opera” star, Jill Washington. Carols for ensemble and audience, Christmas favourites, harp solos, and some usual surprises, all in a wonderfully evocative setting. This is the ideal way to enter the true spirit of the season.
